Every weekday for the past 5,800 mornings, one of our 14 curators has sat down, opened the directory, and written a short editorial on a single verified website. Today's pick is Accordion Atelier Index — a labor of love that has outlived three search-engine eras.
A note from the editor
It is not an algorithm. It is not a feed. It is one curator, one verified website, and roughly 320 words of written rationale — published every weekday morning at 06:00 Pacific since 14 March 2009.
Each pick has passed our 27-point quality check: HTTPS, sub-2.5-second load, real authorship, working links to source material, and a personal note from the submitter that doesn't sound like it was generated in a hurry. The archive you are about to browse contains 5,800 such entries — retired links removed during our 14-month audit in 2024, but the writing kept verbatim, dated and signed.
Some picks are large and obvious (The New York Public Library's Digital Collections, No. 884). Most are small, strange, and slow. That is the point. A directory is only useful if someone is willing to look twice at what is in it.

Built and maintained by a retired tuner in Lyon. 184 entries, last verified by hand on 12 December 2024. The page loads in 1.4 seconds on a 4G connection and weighs 47 KB. We did not know how much we needed it.
Forty thousand scanned soil-survey booklets, all in the public domain, all indexed by county. Submitted by a USDA librarian in 2014, kept alive ever since.
Seven-hour fjord crossings, twelve-hour wood-stove cams, an unbroken broadcast of a knitting needle factory from 2009. A counter-argument to the entire rest of the internet.
